National Safety Awards Presented to lndianOil's Bongaigaon Refinery

Bongaigaon Refinery of IndianOil was selected for two 'National Safety Awards' instituted by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. Bongaigaon Refinery was declared as the 'Winners' under both Scheme-I and Scheme-II for achieving the 'Lowest Average Frequency Rate' and 'Lost Time Accident Free Year for the performance year 2007. The 'National Safety Awards' were presented by Mallikarjun Kharge, Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Govt of India at a glittering function held recently at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. A. Saran, ED of Bongaigaon Refinery, received the ‘National Safety Awards’. The Government of India has awarded the ‘National Safety Awards’ Bongaigaon Refinery of Indian Oil consecutively for the last five years for its outstanding performance in Industrial Safety. This is an indication of the strong commitment and emphasis that Bongaigaon Refinery lays on occupational health, safety and environment.
