IndianOil wins by an innings
Mumbai   22-Oct-2007
There are various traits, which differentiate champion sides from the rest and the also-rans. But the most evident of all is the body language and the attitude they display. That has been the most striking element about IndianOil over the three days of their Times Shield A' Division Cricket League fixture against Western Railway. The Wasim Jaffer-led defending champions have played that tag to perfection while Western have seemed like a kid lost in a mall. Quite expectedly, there was no surprise about where this game was going to end by Friday evening. Western, sitting precariously at 29-3, still 187 in arrears on first innings, wound up at 135 to give IndianOil an innings and 81-run win at the Mahalaxmi ground on Saturday. Overnight batsman Amit Pagnis waged a lone battle with a fighting 43. Offie Vikrant Yeligatti snapped up five wickets. Seamer Rajesh Verma starred in BPCL's nine-wicket win over Mumbai Police at the Bandra-Kurla Complex. Verma, who had captured two wickets in the first innings, bagged eight in the second conceding 61 runs. His match figures were 10 for 109.
