IndianOil retired officers conference concludes

The 17th annual conference of IndianOil Retired Officers' Welfare Association, Guwahati, was held recently at the Guwahati Refinery guesthouse under the president ship of DN Bordoloi. Attended by more than 75 retired officers, the meeting condoled the death of Mr. L. P. Barua, Mr. Jadav Chandra Laskar, Mr. B. P. Bhuyan, Mr. Harmohan Mahanta, Mr. S. M. Sangma, Mr. Lalit Ch. Sarma, Mr. Ram Kumar Das and Mr. C. R. Patowary. In his address, the President Mr. D. N. Bordoloi mentioned about the hiccups at the initial stages of the Association and urged the retired officers to strengthen the Association for their well being. Mr. Debeswar Bhattacharyya, general secretary of the Association, in his report mentioned about various activities and significant achievements of the Association during the past one-year term. He also clarified points raised by members and the report was accepted unanimously. The Treasurer Mr. Sukil Ch. Kakati placed the audited balance sheet and income and expenditure statement. Participating in the discussion, Mr. B. C. Bharali, Mr. G. K. Bhuyan, Mr. D. J. Kakati, Mr. R. K. Bhuyan, Mr. A. C. Barua and Mr. U. C. Roy offered suggestions to strengthen the Association. The conference unanimously adopted few resolutions, urging the IndianOil management to extend LTC facility to retired employees, at least once in four years, revise the ex-gratia to extend increased financial benefit to the old guards, make provision for reimbursement of travelling' expenses to the patients whenever sent for treatment outside NE region and to offer accommodation during the period of treatment, etc. This was stated in a press release. Addressing the conference, Mr. Manik Ch. Das, General Secretary, Refinery Workers' Union and Mr. Hitendra Kumar Bora, Secretary, IndianOil Officers Association, assured that the IndoanOil Management will be pressurised to increase the medical and financial facilities and benefits to all retired employees of the corporation. The conference appointed Mr. Jagadish Ch. Sarma as Auditor for the next year. Mr. Arun Ch. Deka, Vice-President, offered the vote of thanks, the release stated.
