IndianOil to begin refinery in Orissa next month

After several postponements and changes in the last seven years, IndianOil has informed the Orissa government that it would start construction of its 15 mtpa refinery-cum-petrochemical project at Paradip from next month. "IndianOil Chairman Sarthak Behuria has informed the state government that it is set to start construction of the project from December.'" Orissa's Industries Secretary Ashok Dalwai told reporters. The IndianOil chairman later told reporters that the oil refinery-cum-petrochemical complex would be commissioned by 2011-12! He said the IndianOil would invest about Rs 25,000 crore in the project. "The company is committed to spend Rs 2,000 crore immediately on it.'
