Rajasthan, IndianOil in talks for refinery

The Rajasthan Chief Minister, Mr. Ashok Gehlot, has held high-level talks with officials of the IndianOil over the possibility of a refinery project at Banner. In the meeting with IndianOil Chairman, Mr. Sarthak Behuria, here on Monday, Mr. Gehlot said setting up of a refinery in Rajasthan would only be possible when its marketing agreement is finalised for refinery products, according to a press statement. Mr. Behuria was accompanied by Mr. G.C. Daga, Director, IndianOil, and the meeting was also attended by Mr. T. Srinivasan, Chief Secretary, Mr. Ramlal Jat, the State Petroleum Minister and Mr. Govind Sharma, Petroleum Principal Secretary. Mr. Behuria assured Mr. Gehlot that a draft on the marketing strategy would be prepared, as per the State's direction. A matter related to shifting of IndianOil depots from Sanganer, where its 11 tanks caught fire late last year also came up for discussion. Mr. Gehlot was assured that the technical feasibility and legality would be explored for shifting of the depot.
