IOC Panipat refinery to expand cap
New Delhi   24-Aug-2010

IndianOil (IOC), India's largest state-owned oil refining cum-marketing company, will expand capacity of its Panipat refinery to 15 million tonnes per year from the current 12 million tonnes by end of October, director Refineries, Mr B.N. Bankapur, said. The expansion of the refinery, which was to be completed in December 2009, was pushed back to August to avoid supply disruption. "We will go for a 55-day shutdown of crude distillation unit beginning August 30 to hook up the expansion. When we return from the shutdown, the refinery capacity will increase to 15 million tonnes," he told.
