Petrochemical hub coming up in Panipat

The Haryana Government is developing a petrochemical hub in Panipat for the downstream industries of the Panipat Refinery to generate large scale employment opportunities, Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati said in Panipat.

Speaking as the Chief Guest at the 51st IndianOil Day celebrations organised by the Refinery in Panipat, she said that over 900 acres of land had already been acquired for the hub and development works on turn-key basis had been awarded recently by the Haryana Industrial and Infrastructural Development Corporation (HSIIDC).

She said that the Refinery had been instrumental in ushering growth and development in the region.

The completion of petrochemical complex of NAPTHA cracker within a record time of 46 months had made the Refinery as one of the three major petro chemical complexes in South East Asia, she added.
