Free LPG to the BPL families

Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOP&NG) distributed LPG connections and handed over the related documents and equipments to families living below the poverty line, at a function organized in Maigalganj, District Lakhimpur Kheri, in the presence of Satwant Singh, Executive Director, LPG, IndianOil; Indrajit Bose, General Manager, Uttar Pradesh State Office-II and other senior officials. In line with 'Vision 2015' goals of the Government of India, LPG connections are to be made available in rural and under-served areas so as to improve the quality of life of people especially the women folk, by facilitating them reap the benefits of cooking on LPG stoves rather than kerosene and fire wood.
